
Desiree Schwemle
Executive Director, Mental/Behavioral Health & Equine Therapy
Desiree was born in South Weymouth, Massachusetts, but spent most of her childhood in Ocala, Florida. She joined the United States Marine Corps at 17 years old. Her military career spanned more than two decades and included time in the Marine Corps and the Army. Desiree graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Maryland University – University College and went on to obtain her Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling at Wake Forest University. After retiring from the military, Desiree pursued her passion to support active military and veterans with their mental health needs. Desiree does this through part-time private practice where she uses her EAGALA certification to provide equine-assisted psychotherapy as well as her non-clinical full time job doing adventure-based mental health workshops for veterans and their family members.
